Seven Steps To Christ.

This is not meant to be an exposition on each of the seven steps mentioned below, but rather as a taster to whet your appetite regarding living as God intended. He loves His creation, us, and wants the best for us. That's the starting point for a rewarding life with God. So...

1. Know God's love.
Rom 5:8-10 But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.

Joh 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

Jesus (God) came to the earth as a man and died for us. When we accept His sacrifice on our behalf and put faith in Him, He tells us "I will never leave you or forsake you!"

2. Believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:1-4 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures...

Jesus died, was burried and was raised from the dead showing that He was without sin and a perfect sacrifice. He died that we might be forgiven; He lives so that we might have everlasting life. Believe on Jesus and you shall be saved!

3. Receive Forgiveness of Sins.
Act 13:37-39 But He (Jesus), whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known to you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Act 10:43 To him (Jesus), all the prophets give witness, that through His name whosoever believes in Him shall receive remission of sins.

Believing on Jesus; placing all your trust in Him means that you are justified by God. Jesus' righteousness is imputed to you by faith just as Abraham believed and it was imputed to him for righteousness.

4. Receive Eternal Life.
Joh 3:14-16 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 5:23-24 All should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears My Word and believes on Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death to life.

Joh 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the children of God, even to those who believe on His name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.

5. Live The Overcoming Life Through Faith in Jesus.
1Joh 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcome the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

When you believe you are given Holy Spirit to be your guide and instructor so that you CAN live a life in harmony with God. This is called 'living in the spirit' and those who do this will 'walk in the spirit'.

6. Receive The Baptism of the Spirit.
Luk 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?

Ask to be baptised with the Holy Spirit for service to God! The overcoming life is one lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Act 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

There are many gifts of the Spirit, all of which are beneficial to the Christian. We should want them all to more effectively do God's work. If we decide we don't want certain gifts, God can still use us in other ways. He's a big guy; He can handle it! There are others He can annoint to pick up the slack.

7. Live A Life Of Service To God.
God's work is to bring people to belief in Jesus Christ.

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, "This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent".

Our work is to teach people about belief in Jesus Christ.

Mat 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Jesus has all authority and sends us out into the world with that authority delegated to us, so that we can continue the Father's work in our age.

Best wishes for peace and the love of Jesus.
