Mystery Of The Ages.

In the world in which we live many look for meaning and reason and realise that there must be more to life than just a number of years of toil and pain, and then you die! Science and the Bible both provide answers.

One says, "Fossils show that mortal animals have always died and were slowly covered in dust and turned into fossils over hundreds/thousands of years"; though one wonders why the Serengeti and other places aren't littered with dead animals slowly being covered in dust and fossilized!

The bible though says that this was all made by God and He put man here for a purpose; to be made into a glorious being with free will and moral character capable of interacting with God in His glory.

1 Corinthians 2:6 But, we speak wisdom among those who are perfect; yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, that come to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which God has hidden, predetermining it before the world for our glory;

God had a plan to bring us to glory but it needed our co-operation and it needed to be kept a secret until Jesus had come to the earth and died to take away our sins so that we could accept His sacrifice and now live out God's plan.

If evil forces had known about the details in the plan, in advance of Jesus' death and resurection, they would not have crucified Him!

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which God has hidden, predetermining it before the world for our glory; 8 which none of the rulers of this world knew (for if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory).

But God ensured that this mystery (a secret which can be revealed at the proper time) was kept under wraps with just inklings revealed in the Old testament time, sufficient to put the plan into action.

Now that the plan is in place we can all know what God has in mind for us in this life and into the future.

Colossians 1:26 The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 For to them God would make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory, 28 whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, so that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

God's plan is to bring us to perfection in Christ as Jesus lives His life through and in us. As we look on Jesus and look to Jesus we will be changed into His image (to be like Him) going from glory to even greater glory by the Spirit of the Lord working in us.

When I tell you that we worship a GOOD God who has wonderful plans for us, that is, if anything, an understatement!

Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
