We have a sure (eternal) hope stored up for us because we have believed on Jesus our Messiah and our faith and love for God and each other comes from our knowledge and appreciation of that hope. We have eternal life now because of our belief/faith in Jesus but perhaps even more importantly we can have a loving relationship with God and each other NOW as we rest in that hope and know the love of God for us.

Colossians 1:3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people; 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel.

No longer anxious about the future, we can develop our relationship with God which was Jesus' main aim in coming to this earth and suffering and dying for us. Our sins separated us from God but with our acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice the way is made clear for us to have the loving relationship with God that He has always desired with His whole heart.

As the song says, "He came down to our level when we couldn't get up to His" and made the way for us to live loving Him, as all our sins have been removed, past, present and future. What a wonderful God we worship who loves us so much that He died for us so we could live loving Him.
