Knowing the right path to take in any situation and having the best counsel at your fingertips is worth more than gold because through wisdom one can profit in any area. That's why God tells us to seek wisdom and why kings seek wise counsellors to have around them.

Pro 3:13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, 14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. 15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

So we should always ask God for wisdom because from God's wisdom comes blessings and favour.

Pro 2: For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of His saints.

Ask and it shall be given unto you.
