Let's Reciprocate God's Love

The kind of love which God wants us to exhibit is known in the bible as 'agape' love. That's the nearest human description of the love that God has for us. It's a self-sacrificing love that is not based on emotional feeling. It's stays the same (patient, kind, thinking of the other's highest good, loyal, supportive, hopeful, enduring and never ending), regardless of what the recipient does.

Romans 5:7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-- 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus fully demonstrated this love from God in the New Testament to show us what God had in mind for us but which the Old Covenant proved men (and women) were not capable of doing of themselves.

But now, with God in us through Holy Spirit we can reciprocate this love back to God and demonstrate it to others as followers of Christ and His representatives here and now.

1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

As God's children, loved by Him we are to love one another with His love through Holy Spirit in us and in this way God's (agape kind of) love is perfected in us and demonstrated to the world.

Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
