One of the things which allows us to enjoy our freedom in Jesus and live for
Him is to realise that we have had all our sins forgiven; past, present and
future. As a result we should have no consciousness of sin and so should see
ourselves not as 'sinners trying to change' but as 'the saved, changing as
we live through Jesus'.
Hebrews 10:1 For since the law has but a shadow of
the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can
never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make
perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased
to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no
longer have any consciousness of sins?
Here the writer of Hebrews tells us that we Christian worshipers should have
no consciousness of sin. If the Old Testsment sacrifices had made a perfect
atonement then israel would have had no further consciousness of sins.
Therefore, since we have had Jesus the Christ, the perfect sacrifice, die
for us and we have accepted His sacrifice on our behalf, we have been cleansed
and should have NO consciousness of sins!
As our minds are renewed we take on the mind of Christ in our soul realm just
as we have the mind of Christ in our spirit. Our mind, our intellect and our
emotions are made to conform with the model of Christ and we become perfect
over time as we yield to be led by the Holy Spirit. This is not something we
can do of ourselves but Holy Spirit does it in and through us till we become
as Jesus said in Matthew, Chapter 5, verse 48.
Matthew 5:38 You therefore must be perfect, as your
heavenly Father is perfect.
As the writer of Hebrews said, The Law and it's sacrifices cannot make you
perfect"; but thank God for Jesus the Anointed One!
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
