The Spirit Without Measure!

God gives us many "clues" about the relationship that He wants to have with us, His creation.

For instance God is fair. He does not play favourites with us. He treats us according to our surrender to Him. But, all have the same opportunity to succeed. For instance, about Jesus this is said...

John 3:34 "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.

It's interesting but God is so non-partial or impartial that He said this about us...

John 20:21-22 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus only said what He heard the Father say, so I'm bringing out that point regarding this saying so that you see the link between the last two scriptures.

Just as God sent Jesus to preach the word, heal, and show signs and wonders, having given Him the Spirit without measure, in the same way Jesus says He has sent us into the world! And after saying that His next words are, "Receive the Holy Spirit!" Of course I'm assuming you believe what Jesus says in the word. God has given us all the same blessing of Holy Spirit within us.

2 Cor 1:21-22 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

God has given us His Spirit. Not a part thereof. The whole nine yards. And, having His Spirit is our guarantee that the glory and eternity that He promised us WILL be ours!

Through Holy Spirit in us we have the ability to do all that Jesus did, as long as we don't forget that it's the anointing of the baptism in the Holy Spirit that positions us above John the baptist, and enables us to do these things!

Mat 11:11 Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

John did not have this anointing at the time, as Holy Spirit was not given 'to remain', as with Jesus, until that first Penticost in the Upper Room. And what is the simple basis that Paul gives us in order to walk in this anointing; to live by grace through faith?

2 Cor 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Amen.

Fellowshipping with Holy Spirit enables us to know the will of God and to be able to 'say what the Father says' and 'do what we see the Father doing'. THEN we will be able to do all that Jesus did, and as we stay in fellowship, perhaps even more, as Jesus said was possible. And He should know!

It would be a shame to miss out on this fellowship with God, (friendship, presence, companionship, advice, teaching, guidance, communion, and intimacy and joy) which leads on to Jesus and the Father living through us and us doing the works of the Father!

Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
