You Are An Overcomer.

We Christians will often speak about being overcomers in life. What we mean is that we should be improving in character day by day. Christians are to be moral people. We should not lie, steal, or harm anyone, even if doing so would advance the hold of our religion within a country.

You see Christians believe that God can look after himself! If we have to fight God's battles then He would be a very weak god indeed! He has given prophesies in the bible covering how He will take care of those who contest His right to rule, and we just watch as it all comes to pass.

This is different to us being attacked personally of course! Christians have been persecuted throughout the ages for worshipping the true God. Actually Jesus said this would happen, but through it all we will maintain His love for mankind!

God can thus expect us to improve in character day by day because Christians, like no other people, have through faith in Jesus, the power to live upright lives! Holy Spirit in us is our guide so that we can live righteously, in this age. We will not continue walking according to our old sinful natures. Our minds will be renewed day by day.

As Paul says in Rom 8:1-4...

Rom 8:1-4 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Since Paul tells us that the righteous requirements of the law would be fulfilled in us we KNOW that we will not be overcome by sin but rather will be overcomers in our overall walk with God.

There are three who attempt to make us sin; The world's "anti-Jehovah" culture, Our sinful fleshly natures, and Satan. Though we will sometimes make mistakes, 'in Christ' we are no longer the beaten down wretches we were, before Holy Spirit came into us to be our guide.

We can thank God, through Jesus Christ that instead...

1. We overcome the world by our Faith! (1 John 5:4-5)
2. We overcome the flesh by walking in the Spirit! (Gal 5:16)
3. We overcome Satan by the Word and the Blood! (Rev 12:11)

Let's believe and trust Father God, Christ Jesus, and Holy Spirit to do what they promise in their word to do through us. We ARE overcomers because we put faith in Jesus and allow Him to live His life through us!

Php 2:13 for it is God who is working in you, both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Gal 3:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Amen.
